A 17-year-old youth will appear in the Balclutha District Court today on charges of driving with excess breath-alcohol and driving while disqualified after police stopped him as he was leaving Telford Rural Polytechnic on Friday night.
His breath-alcohol reading was 661mcg, 511mcg over the youth driver legal limit.
• On Saturday night, an 18-year-old Ashburton man's car slid off the Owaka highway.
He was found to be over the limit.
