Prime Minister Bill English has declined to comment on revelations Clutha-Southland MP Todd Barclay refused to co-operate with a police investigation into allegations he secretly recorded a staff member.
Police yesterday released documents into the investigation. These show Mr Barclay did not co-operate with police despite earlier saying publicly he would.
Mr Barclay, in a statement, yesterday said it was his ''right'' not to make a statement to police about the allegation.
Mr English, Mr Barclay's predecessor as Clutha-Southland MP, said the employment dispute had been resolved, police had looked into the matter and Mr Barclay had been reselected to stand in the seat. It was time to move on.
The police investigation file, released under the Official Information Act, gives details of the breakdown in relations between electorate staff.
