Cory Loper and Ari Nixon took on the successful Charlotte St business last November — complete with knowledgeable and long-standing staff Audrey and Sue.
Since then they have made one or two additions to the tried-and-tested formula you have come to appreciate, retaining good, old-fashioned customer service and wide-ranging products for all your gardening needs.
Customers can now also purchase a range of fishing gear and bonsai trees and equipment in store.
On the floral side, Ms Nixon loves making customer bouquets both pre-made as well as to order and has just attained her NZ certificate in floristry, providing you with beautiful arrangements for every occasion.
A store at the heart of the community, Matau is pleased to support the work of Beautified Ink, donating bouquets to cancer survivors.
The team would like to thank all their many loyal customers, suppliers, supporters and most importantly their staff who have helped make their first year such a success.
