A woman and mother who is the backbone of the Teen Tots group was last night recognised for her contribution to the Balclutha Parents Centre.
Kate McKenzie was awarded honorary membership of the group for her efforts in forming the group for first-time mothers.
She hosts the group at the Parents Centre rooms in Balclutha every Thursday and makes a huge effort for all involved, group spokeswoman Rosie Robinson said.
Mrs McKenzie has hosted the group since it was established 18 months ago.
Two other long-serving members, who are standing down after nine years on the committee, were also acknowledged.
Lyndal Pryde and Jane Hutton had provided invaluable service over that time.
