Keys and miscellaneous items have been stolen from properties in Balclutha and police are trying to reunite them with their rightful owners.
Senior Constable Tanya Grant, of Balclutha, said police apprehended a ``group of youths'' who admitted stealing keys and an ``assortment of other items''.
The items were taken from unlocked vehicles and properties in Balclutha.
``We know that a lot of the offences have not been reported to police and there have also been items recovered which we have been unable to return to their rightful owners,'' Snr Const Grant said.
``If you had property stolen during this time but did not bother to report it or thought that you had mislaid items which could have been taken from your unlocked vehicle ... please contact us.''
There was a possibility the stolen property was at the Balclutha police station.
Most of the recovered items were sets of keys or other small items.
