
The teenager took to the simulator quickly, explaining he had been gaining work experience on a farm near Outram recently.
"I’ve been helping out on a dairy farm.
"I want to work outdoors, and just came along to see what they offer."
He said he planned to attend further open days, including one at Lincoln next week.
Ms Henry said the event was a way for prospective students to learn about agricultural qualifications within the "thriving" primary sector.
The day was one element of a broader strategy of recruitment for Telford, including hands-on, residential "starter camps" at the campus and school outreach.
"We had a starter camp last week, which about 40 attended and we have two more between now and Christmas.
"Today is a more traditional open day where students can open conversations about studying at Telford, while getting a feel for the place, which is unique and a wonderful place to thrive."
