Superheroes read books

Children can become superheroes as part of a reading programme being run by Clutha district libraries.

Primary school-aged children can register for the "Superheroes Read" programme, which is a free and incentive-based scheme for the summer holidays, according to children and teenagers' librarian Vicki Woodrow.

Each child sets their own reading target with incentives along the way and a book prize for those who reach their reading goals.

Registrations close on December 31.
