Firefighters are battling a hedge fire near Gore this afternoon.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said appliances from Riversdale, Balfour, Waikaka and Gore, were called to the blaze just after 1pm.
There was no detail on the size of the blaze, but firefighters were applying foam just after 2pm and had enough resources to deal with it.
There was no need for any evacuations.
