Celebrating a century

Dozens of people gathered at Aspiring Lifestyle Retirement Village yesterday to celebrate Betty McCormack’s 100th birthday.

Four generations of McCormacks surrounded Betty on her special day. Sitting down Peter (left), Betty, Libby, Ben, joined by great-granddaughter (standing far left) Sophie, Amy and Penny McCormack.

Betty McCormack imparts the wisdom behind living a rich life.

"You’ve got to learn patience, and remember we are all different.

"Everybody’s got different ideas on life and you’ve got to remember to go with the flow. We’re all entitled to our own thoughts and decisions. We’re all learning every day," she said.

"I’m still learning and I think times change and you’ve got to go and live with the times."
