More than a flurry on its way

Although it looked pristine yesterday it could be a case of ‘‘careful what you wish for’’ as staff at Cardrona Alpine Resort and Treble Cone had to prepare the skifields for opening in whiteout conditions for much of yesterday.

Mountainwatch website said spring started with one quick-moving weather system followed by another dumping 3cm to 8cm across the southern lakes on Monday and between 8cm to 25cm yesterday.

Cardrona Alpine Resort and Treble Cone communications executive Jen Houltham said they were ‘‘working hard’’ to update staff and guests about what its Level 2 operations would look like but that both fields would definitely be open today.
