A volunteer-powered charity that provides home-cooked meals to individuals and families in the Upper Clutha, Food For Love gives to those who are experiencing illness, hardship or challenging circumstances.
New general manager Sue Clarke said she was proud to join an organisation built on compassion and community spirit.
‘‘Food For Love represents the very best of what communities can achieve when people come together with generosity and care.
‘‘I am honoured to step into this role and to support the volunteers, partners and supporters who make this mahi possible,’’ she said.
Food For Love chairwoman Portia Campbell said Ms Clarke stood out during a competitive recruitment process.
‘‘We are delighted to appoint Sue as our new GM and believe her experience brings the right combination of leadership capability and community stakeholder engagement to support Food For Love through its next stage of growth.
‘‘Sue will work closely with co-founder and operations manager Bex Sarginson and administration and volunteer support Tracey Pedersen.
‘‘The board is excited about Food For Love’s future and the impact it will continue to have in supporting the Upper Clutha community in times of need,’’ Mrs Campbell said.
She also said the organisation’s board wanted to acknowledge outgoing general manager Jodie Stuart, who had made a significant and valued contribution to the organisation.
Ms Clarke had previously been the corporate events specialist at Otago Polytechnic.
