Kim Romeril was back at the gym on Monday morning, less than two days after boxing her way to victory at the Southern Showdown.
The Green Island-based Neighbourhood Support Otago co-ordinator went toe to toe with cardiac physiologist Jessica Unahi in a light middleweight bout at the Edgar Centre on Saturday night, winning the three-round fight on points.
''It was an amazing experience and a bit of a blur, really,'' Mrs Romeril said.
''The body is not too bad. I'm still really exhausted but it's just muscle fatigue.''
The 31-year-old mother of three was confident she had done enough to win after being told by trainer and coach Ryan Henry during the fight she was ahead on points .
''He's a fantastic coach. He kept saying 'you've got that round' so I was feeling confident.''
Mrs Romeril said the experience and change in diet had increased her energy levels and she had also lost about 10kg.
But rather than rest up for a few days after Saturday's fight, Mrs Romeril was back in the gym on Monday morning.
''I don't want to do all that training and then give it away.
''I want to keep at the sparring and training and refine my technique.
There is much more to boxing than getting in a ring and trying to throw punches.
''Who knows, maybe there will be another fight next year.''
Mrs Romeril raised several hundred dollars for her charity Child Cancer Foundation from the event.
