Broom, Duffy impress

Neil Broom got some valuable time out in the middle and Jacob Duffy bowled tightly on the final day of Otago’s two-day warm-up match against Canterbury in Rangiora.

Duffy took one for four from five overs in a miserly spell in the morning.

Jack Hunter (one for six) and Sam Wells (one for six) proved difficult to get away as Canterbury posted 92 for four from 39 overs before declaring.

Broom top scored with 40 before offering a catch.

The Volts best batsman spent more than an hour at the batting crease.

Anaru Kitchen was undefeated on 26 when the Volts declared on 98 for three.

With day one washed out, both sides opted for an early finish and the game was drawn.
