New Zealand Cricket today released the list of first-class cricketers offered contracts by New Zealand's six major associations for the 2008-09 season.

Former New Zealand fast bowler Ian Butler has headed to Otago while left-arm seamer Bradley Scott has taken the return journey to Northern Districts for family reasons.

Otago, the domestic one-day champions, have also acquired 23-year-old South African opening bowler Neil Wagner to fill the void left by Scott.

The former Northern Transvaal representative is due to arrive on October 1 after a stint playing club cricket in England.

Although only contracted for the 2008-09 season, Otago coach Mike Hesson said Wagner was keen to follow compatriot Grant Elliott and one day represent New Zealand.

Canterbury, who have South Africans Kruger van Wyk and Johann Myburgh in the process of qualifying for national team selection, have left one spot open on their 12-man roster.
