Both its twenty/20 fixtures were abandoned due to poor weather.
In Saturday's match against Auckland at Colin Maiden Park just over two overs were available to Auckland's openers before the weather intervened.
Yesterday's game against Northern Districts in Mount Maunganui was abandoned without a ball bowled.
Otago was desperate to mount a comeback of sorts after slumping to five consecutive losses.
But any thoughts of redemption will have to wait until Wednesday, when it plays Central Districts at Pukekura Park, in New Plymouth.
The only upside is Otago has finally got on the scoreboard with two points awarded for an abandoned match or when there is no result.
"Well, we got four points, so that's four more than we started with this weekend," Otago captain Craig Cumming quipped.
"But we've got to be playing to get things back on track. To say it was frustrating is an understatement because, while we are sitting watching the rain, we are not getting any better."
The team has highlighted some areas it believes it needs to improve but Cumming believes his side is "not that far off the pace".
"I think we need to improve in all areas. We're certainly not a train wreck but the reality is we haven't been good enough to win any games. I think it comes back to the intensity we've been showing at training."
With the twenty/20 campaign so compressed Cumming wondered if his side had eased back on the training too much and needed to do more.
"It is important that we keep training with intensity and, more importantly, we need to get the quantity of training. I'm not sure if we are hitting enough balls and bowling enough balls in the nets. It is hard because you are travelling, you are going from hotel to hotel, city to city. But the reality is it is not a tough campaign - it is not a tough month in terms of workload."
Cumming does not believe Otago's lack of success can be pinpointed to any particular area on the field.
"It has been a little bit of everything at different times," Cumming said.
"The batting has been poor at times but the bowling has been OK. Then it sort of swaps around, so it is hard to put your finger on what's wrong.
"If we get everything together then I think we can get some wins under our belt."
Otago overseas player Darren Stevens (Kent) has been named in England's 30-man preliminary squad for ICC World Cup in February.
