Cricket: Strong bowling effort puts NZ on top

The Black Caps put themselves into a strong position to the level the three-match one-day international series against Zimbabwe after restricting the home side to 235 for nine in the second ODI in Harare last night.

It was a much-improved bowling performance by New Zealand which at one stage reduced Zimbabwe to 68 for six.

Legspinner Ish Sodhi, who struggled on debut in the first ODI, was the pick of the Black Caps' bowlers, taking three for 38 from his 10 overs.

Sikander Raza anchored Zimbabwe's innings, scoring a fine 100 not out from 95 balls.

The visiting side made one change from the XI which lost the first ODI by seven wickets, bringing in Auckland allrounder Colin Munro for Otago allrounder Jummy Neesham.

The third ODI is on Friday
