Otago A will play a three-day game against a combined Hawke Cup districts side at Logan Park.
It is a new fixture which has been added to the A’s programme, and will get under way tomorrow.
The game will provide an opportunity for players from the districts to match their skills against the Otago A side, and it is hoped the fixture will become an annual event.
North East Valley all-rounder Hunter Kindley will captain the Otago A team, which includes Volts opener Jacob Cumming and his younger brother Zac Cumming, who recently represented New Zealand at the under-19 World Cup.
University-Grange strike bowler Lahiru Vimukthi joins the likes of Tommy Clout and Kaleb McKay in the attack. He is the leading wicket-taker in the premier grade. His 32 wickets have come at an average of 11.16.
The combined Hawke Cup districts side features Wakatipu High School pupil Hugo Bogue, who blasted a century for Otago under-19 in December.
They have also drafted in Volts top-order batter Ollie White, while Volts middle-order batter Llew Johnson and North Otago all-rounder Jeremy Smith will also give them some starch.
