Brad Flint struck two key blows, dismissing Thomas Anderson and Blake Martin, and Union’s innings never gained momentum, eventually crawling to 94 for eight at the end of 20 overs, 82 runs short of the target.
Mason James (24) was the top scorer, while Stephan Grobler continued his fine form with the ball, taking two for eight, and Flint finished with two for 15.
Earlier, Oamaru posted a competitive 175 for eight in their allotted 20 overs.
Regan George led the charge with an unbeaten 59 off 33 balls, supported by contributions of 20 runs each from Luke Taylor, Jordan Horrell and Liam Direen.
Brad Fleming was the pick of the Union bowlers, finishing with two for 33 from his four overs.
This victory marked Oamaru’s record 15th triumph in the Dick Hunt Memorial Rosebowl.

Oamaru chased down the target in 18.3 overs with Hattingh anchoring the innings with an unbeaten 41 as his team finished on 100 for four.
Hayden Armstrong (two for 29) and Glen Curry (two for 14) bowled well for Union.
The Borton Cup resumed on Saturday with all three games having decisive results.
Union beat Valley by 112 runs, Oamaru beat Waitaki Boys’ by 187 runs, and Albion beat St Kevin’s by 100 runs.
