Otago narrowly missed out on a place in the national under-19 final despite edging Wellington by three wickets in a tense one-day game in Lincoln yesterday.
Wellington posted 308 for six but Zac Cumming thrashed 121 from 78 balls in a withering assault to help his side run the target down with the best part of four overs remaining.
Wellington still got through to today's final courtesy of net run rate and will face this year's standout side Auckland.
