The Otago Sparks have inched closer to a spot in the Hallyburton Johnstone Shield final later this month.
The Sparks have completed their round-robin matches and are sweating on the results of other games to see if they will make the final against Wellington.
Poor weather across the country at the weekend improved their prospects.
The Central Hinds needed to win both their matches against competition front-runner Wellington to slip past Otago in the standings.
But both games were abandoned, which means only the Northern Brave can tip Otago out of the final.
To do that the Brave will need to win its two remaining games against Auckland this weekend.
Auckland beat Canterbury by 92 runs at Eden Park Outer Oval on Saturday.
It posted 249 for nine after Katie Perkins and debutante Sydney Bultitude combined to put on a women's List A record 110 runs for the ninth wicket.
Perkins went on to an unbeaten 85 off 75 balls, and Bultitude hit 40 off 48 balls.
Twenty-year-old Molly Penfold grabbed a career-best four for 42 to help dismiss Canterbury for 157 and clinch the win.
Yesterday’s match between the two teams was abandoned.
