It was two wins from two tournaments for Sandra Keith (Dunsandel) at the North East Valley green yesterday.

Keith, and her lead Lynne Rance (Green Island), won the second annual Dunedin Casino Women's Classic Pairs when they beat Tayla Bruce (Canterbury) and Sue Hodges (Outram) 18-6 in the final.

They collected the winners purse of $2000 in the event that has a prize pool of $5000.

''Lynne went well with her lead bowls and it put the pressure on Sue,'' Keith said.

''If you haven't got bowls on the head it is a lot harder as a skip.''

Keith and Rance dominated the game from the start, led 10-0 after four ends and never looked in any danger after that.

They added four more shots from the seventh to the ninth end to lead 14-3 and then rubbed it in with a two on the 11th and one on the 12th ends to lead 17-4.

Keith demonstrated her skills on the 11th end, when she drew a toucher with her first bowl and added a second shot with her next bowl.

Keith's job was made easier because Rance was accurate and put her lead bowls around the head.

She had the advantage over New Zealand under-18 representative Tayla Bruce, whowas not able to match her accuracy.

Rance is an experienced bowler and has won 17 Bowls Dunedin titles''We combined well as a team and this helped us to get the win,'' Keith said.

''We have played indoor bowls against each other in the past, so it was good to play together in this tournament.''

In the semifinals Keith beat Judy Robertson and Michelle Fallow (Dunedin) 16-9 and Hodges beat Jenny Dyhrberg and Jan Barclay (Taieri) 14-13 on the extra end.

The plate final was won by Kim Gawn (Taieri) and Carolyn Crawford (St Clair), when they beat Barbara Archer (Taieri) and Anne Curtis (Caversham) 11-7.
