The South African-born all-rounder has again been named among the side’s first round of contract offers for the upcoming summer.
He was one of 15 players to be offered contracts, with a 16th spot remaining open.
That is subject to a border exemption being granted by Immigration New Zealand.
If he is able to obtain that exemption, Foxcroft will be a significant addition to this Volts side.
The 23-year-old had been a key player for the Volts two years ago, being named the team’s batsman of the year and bowling handy right-arm off break.
It was his second year with the team and he had signalled his intention to become eligible to play for the Black Caps.
However, he was taking a break in South Africa when the New Zealand border was closed to foreigners last year.
Several attempts from Otago Cricket to get him back last year proved unsuccessful.
The two new names among the group are right-arm seamer Angus McKenzie and all-rounder Jake Gibson.
Of last year’s group, Camden Hawkins and Josh Finnie were missing, while star all-rounder Nathan Smith has moved to Wellington.
McKenzie played three Plunket Shield games for Otago at the end of last last summer, as well as five one-day matches.
That came after impressing in the Otago A campaign.
"Angus showed last season that he has the ability to perform and contribute to success at this level and possesses skills with both bat and ball, which makes him an asset to our group," new Volts coach Dion Ebrahim said.
"At just 22, he still has time on his side to develop into a class performer as he matures and learns his roles further within the team."
Meanwhile, Gibson moves south from Northern Districts, where he took five wickets on debut in the one-day competition two seasons ago.
He has played five List A matches, although is yet to make his first class debut.
"He [Jake] can take both the new ball or be a first change option, meaning he will complement and bolster our bowling stocks across all formats," Ebrahim said.
"He has the attributes to become a fine all-rounder and is keen to make his mark with the bat.
"He will be an exciting addition into our environment."
