The Otago Volts were electric as they gave Auckland a thumping by an innings and 37 runs in Dunedin today.
Otago took 18 wickets in an extraordinary day at the University Oval to beat Auckland by an innings and 37 runs.
Seamer Jacob Duffy starred in the second innings with five for 29 to roll Auckland for 134 and seal the win with two days to spare.
The victory was set up earlier in the day, though, with the Volts taking eight for 106 in the morning session to dismiss Auckland for 134 in its first innings.
At University Oval, Dunedin:
Otago 305 beat Auckland 134 (Matt McEwan 39; Michael Rae 3-24, Michael Rippon 3-28) and 134 (Mark Chapman 41; Jacob Duffy 5-39, Matt Bacon 3-21) by an innings and 37 runs.
