The Wellington Phoenix have secured one of New Zealand’s top young players from the country’s leading amateur women’s football club.
The Phoenix have signed Auckland United forward Pia Vlok on a three-year contract, the first two of which are on scholarship terms.
Vlok, 16, helped Auckland United win a remarkable four trophies last year and was named player of the match in the National League final.
She was also named the best player at the Oceania under-16 tournament in Fiji and went on to represent New Zealand at the Fifa Under-17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic. — Allied Media
