Jordan Spieth has won his second major of 2015 after capturing the US Open title at Chambers Bay in Washington today.
The 21-year-old Masters champion is now in line for a grand slam after a one-stroke victory, becoming the youngest US Open champion since Bob Jones in 1923.
Dustin Johnson had a chance to first win the tournament then send it to a Tuesday 18-hole playoff but he three-putted the 18th green to finish at four-under par.
Spieth and Branden Grace were tied for the lead on the 16th tee before the South African sent his drive out of bounds to card a double bogey.
Spieth then had a three-shot lead on the 17th tee before also making double bogey to walk off the green tied with Louis Oosthuizen.
However, a glorious approach shot on the 18th gave him a chance for a birdie which he nailed, moving to five-under and holding on under pressure from Johnson.
Johnson's hit a booming drive on 18 and then an excellent approach gave him an eagle opportunity, until his three-par saw him finish with a par and finish one behind Spieth.
Spieth, from the US and born in 1993, is the youngest player to win two majors since Gene Sarazen in 1922.
