Kiwis prop Sam Rapira has made himself unavailable for the Four Nations rugby league tournament in New Zealand next month.
The New Zealand Warriors front rower cited family reasons for withdrawing from the Kiwis train-on squad, who trained in Auckland today ahead of coach Stephen Kearney naming a 23-man squad for the tournament on Tuesday.
Rapira has played 12 tests since 2007 and was involved in the Anzac test against Australia in Melbourne in May.
Warriors centre Jerome Ropati also missed training today due to a shoulder injury that ruled him out of the National Rugby League playoffs.
New Zealand open their Four Nations campaign against England in Wellington on October 23, with Australia playing Papua New Guinea in Sydney the following day.
