The 2013 runner-up in the 10-round national championship, Queenstown's Scott was thankful Friday night's near rollover did not rob him of the title again and the winner's $10,000 purse.
''I felt bloody lucky about that,'' he said.
''After a clean restart I was able to relax and settle into a good race.''
Defending champion Ray Baughan, of Christchurch, was second and Te Anau-based, Central Motor Speedway-contracted driver Daniel Anderson third.
The final race itself was won by Christchurch's Jamie Duff, who lapped all but four of the cars to finish.
Contracted to Western Springs Speedway, Duff races internationally in the off-season and showed his class in the Easter Championship racing at the Cromwell circuit on Sunday.
After starting well down the grid, he blitzed the field in the 20-lap sprint car feature race, lapping every car except two to take the Easter Championship title.
