Pulse to meet unbeaten Steel in final

The Southern Steel will play the Central Pulse for the ANZ Premiership title.

After trailing early, the Pulse fought back to beat the Northern Mystics 59-52 in yesterday's elimination final in Wellington.

Having finished top of the table, the Steel was guaranteed a home final, which it will host on Wednesday night in Invercargill.

The premiership's best defensive team, the Pulse has proven hard to score against with the duo of Katrina Grant and Phoenix Karaka at the back.

However, the Mystics were able to leap out to a 16-10 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Maria Tutaia scored 13 of those goals, as she combined with Bailey Mes for a perfect quarter.

However, the Pulse was able to edge closer through the second quarter before taking the lead late in the third.

It then showed its defensive prowess, holding the Mystics to eight goals in the final quarter.

In their previous meetings, the Steel has beaten the Pulse 63-50, 80-44 and 64-51.

The Steel will enter the final unbeaten for the season.
