Up to 30 teams competing in SI champs

All roads lead to the Edgar Centre.

Now get a march on.

The South Island marching championships will take place at the Edgar Centre on Sunday, with up to 30 teams taking part. The teams will come from Invercargill to Nelson, the majority of them from Christchurch.

Most teams will be in the senior or under-16 grades.

Four Dunedin teams — Onyx Militaires under-12, Onyx Militaires under-16, Unite Senior and Onyx Militaires masters — are competing.

Practice will take place tomorrow.

Teams will be judged on their technical and display phases.

It will be the first time Dunedin has held the South Island Championships for more than five years.

The Edgar Centre will also host the national championships, in March next year
