Debbie Hill - captain of the New Zealand volleyball team, the Scorpions club volleyball team and now co-captain of the Otago netball team. The other half? Alando Soakai - captain of the Otago rugby team.
Assignments this week: beating those damn Aucklanders.
Hill and Soakai, who met while studying physical education at the University of Otago and who have been together for about four and a-half years, will both lead their provincial teams against Auckland opposition on Sunday.
Hill, who is co-captain of the netball team with Jodi Brown, will play Auckland in the opening game of the national championship at noon at the Lion Foundation Arena, and Soakai will lead Otago into battle at Carisbrook just a couple of hours later.
So, will they be sitting at home this week, talking captaincy tactics and how to beat the Aucklanders?
"Not really. We don't really talk about captaincy at home much," Soakai said.
"[But] when I am frustrated, she is the first one to hear about it."
Hill said the couple tried to watch each other play sport, but it was not easy.
Soakai was often away with Otago and the Highlanders, and he also spent a month this year in the South Pacific with the Junior All Blacks.
Hill has just got back from Taiwan, playing in a qualifying tournament for the world volleyball championships.
With training and playing schedules, the couple did not get to spend much time together, but said they both loved sport.
Hill (23), who was born in Rotorua, said beating Auckland would not be easy.
The Auckland-raised Soakai (26) expressed the same sentiments.
But more importantly - who does the dishes, who cooks the tea and who is the boss at home?
"The person who doesn't cook the tea has to do the dishes," the rugby player said.
And the one in charge at home?
"Our dog Nala leads us around, really."
