Futsal South will be looking over its shoulder as the final series of the national league gets under way in Auckland today.
The Futsal South side played well in the first of the three-stage series in Napier and ended in second place behind Capital.
But it only won one game in the second series, in Wellington.
The side had a 2-1 victory over Waibop but had heavy losses to Mainland, Manawatu-Central and Auckland.
It also drew 4-4 with Hawkes Bay-Central.
The team is in fourth place on 16 points.
Unbeaten Capital has 30 points with 10 wins from 10 games, Auckland has 24 points and Manawatu-Central has 19 points.
Otago will want to stay in fourth place to reach the semifinals and has a couple of winnable games today against Northern, which sits bottom on the table and then Manawatu-Central.
But the task gets much tougher against Auckland tomorrow morning and a rampant Capital side in its final game tomorrow.
In the semifinals, the top ranked team will play the fourth placed side and the second and third placed teams will play each other.
