Kavanagh dominates co-ed tournament

It was the time for co-educational pupils to have their day in the sporting sun.

The annual co-ed tournament for Dunedin district schools took place in the city yesterday. Balls were thrown, kicked and passed while shuttlecocks also got a workout.

The schools competed in basketball, netball, hockey, football, sevens and badminton.

Kavanagh College was the dominant school.

It won the senior boys and senior girls basketball and also the junior netball. It also won the mixed hockey,  girls and boys football, the badminton and curling.

Taieri College won the junior girls and boys basketball and the sevens. Tokomairiro High School won the senior netball.

Bayfield High School was second to Kavanagh overall with Logan Park High School third.
