New Zealand professionals Martin Knight and Alex Grayson will give exhibition matches in Cromwell and Dunedin to promote squash.
It is an initiative by New Zealand Squash to bring the game back into the spotlight it bathed in when Susan Devoy was world champion. Knight (27) is the top male player in the country and is ranked 43rd in the world.
He has been a member of the New Zealand senior team since 2005 and has competed in the last two Commonwealth Games.
One of Knight's highlights was winning a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi last year. He competes regularly on the Australian, Asian and North American circuits.
He will play Grayson (20), a promising younger member of the New Zealand squash team who is ranked 145th in the world. The two professionals will give a talk about their experiences on the professional circuit before giving an exhibition game.
"Their standard of play is out of this world," Taieri Squash Club president Justine Dahlenburg said.
"It is a way for us to promote the game and see the best players in action."
The exhibition games will be held at the Cromwell Squash Club on May 31 and at the Taieri Squash Club on June 2.
