Tahakopa trainer Brian Norman had the perfect night out at Forbury Park last night.

Norman won the first three races at the track with Glendhu Gem, Whata Razzle Dazzle and Easton Foxglove.

The winning trio were the only horses of Norman's 12-strong team entered for the meeting.

Norman's well-known wit was evident when asked when he last scored a winning treble.

"The last time was about when you were in short pants," Norman said to a race-goer.

The first time he achieved the feat was in 1996, when he trained and drove Anerobatics, Double Trouble and Peter Afella at an Ascot Park meeting.

Norman's perfect night out started when Glendhu Gem turned her form around in a front-running display for driver Nathan Williamson.

Though punters had lost faith in the 4yr-old after five race failures, her trainer had not.

"She galloped last week, but it wasn't her fault because we put blinds on her, but we took them off [last night]," Norman said.

"She has always had the ability and she trots pretty good at home and at the workouts."

It should be no surprise that Norman has a decent opinion of Glendhu Gem given she is a half-sister to classy trotter Gentleman Sir.

Auckland's Lew Driver trained the 5yr-old Love You gelding to win six races before he was exported to Australia where he is yet to recapture his New Zealand form.

Whata Razzle Dazzle and Easton Foxglove's wins came via perfect Dexter Dunn drives.

Norman's trio would continue to race at Forbury Park meetings, the trainer said.
