Trainers Greg and Nina Hope want driver Greg Sugars to make full use of his premium draw in the $A1 million ($NZ1.04 million) Menangle mile (1609m).
That means Sugars will be attempting to lead at all costs.
"We couldn’t have wished for a better draw," Greg Hope said.
"We will be trying to hold up for as long as we can."
"We think he can get out of the gate as good as anything, so we will be trying to lead up."
Hope believes if A G’s White Socks can hold the front he will set his rivals a huge task to catch him.
"I have got no doubt he could lead a pretty good mile and we are really happy with where he is at."
A G’s White Socks has effectively become the last horse standing among New Zealand’s who were headed towards the Miracle Mile.
The 6yr-old has remained in excellent form during a lengthy season that has included the New Zealand Cup, Interdominions, Hunter Cup and Miracle Mile.
The pacer has thrived while his peers have been ruled out of the race through injury and misfortune.
"He is thriving, he is doing really well," Hope said.
"I am quite surprised how he is copping all of the racing and the travel."
"If anything he is getting bigger and stronger."
"And his temperament has changed – he is so much more relaxed now."
A G’s White Socks comes into tonight’s feature after running third behind rivals King Of Swing and Code Bailey in last weekend’s Allied Express Sprint.
The pacer was slightly uncomfortable around the home bend, which is the only concern the Hopes have before tonight’s race.
"That is the only concern, that he just didn’t get around the last bend that well last weekend," Hope said.
"But I think having that run on the track will make it a lot easier for him this week."
This year’s Miracle Mile looks a far cry from some of its vintage and most competitive editions.
However, Hope has plenty of respect for the opposition.
"They can all run the time and they can all still go hard."
"So, it will come down to the way the sectionals are run."
A G’s White Socks will form a two-pronged New Zealand attack on the Miracle Mile with Bettor’s Heart.
The Peter Bagrie-trained mare will start from barrier 6 after gaining a start in the race with her brilliant win in last weekend’s Ladyship Mile.
