Carabella is set to resume racing at Addington tomorrow week as a prelude to a campaign in Auckland.
"She is just incredible. She did it so easily. I was surprised how fast she ran her last quarter (25.9)," Ricky May, her driver, said.
Carabella led and won by a length and a-quarter from Red Ransom. She ran her last 800m in 56.
Carabella, who has not raced since she won the Harness Jewels at Ashburton in June, one of her 10 wins in 11 starts as a 3yr-old.
She won a workout at Rangiora last Thursday.
Her main mission is the $100,000 group one Queen Of Hearts at Alexandra Park on December 16. She has the $30,000 Northern Breeders' Stakes available a week earlier.
Monkey King, stablemate of Carabella, has his next start in the $17,500 Green Mile at Methven on December 11. He ran creditable races at Addington this month for seventh in the New Zealand Cup and fifth in the New Zealand Free-For-All.
He has yet to race on grass but he finished second to Second Wind in a trial at Methven in September.
Gerard O'Reilly is making the trip from Rakaia to Dunedin to drive Strathcullen and Lord Jowers tonight.
O'Reilly drove both the Geoff Dunn-trained horses at Oamaru last Saturday. Strathcullen led for most of the way to win over 3000m and Lord Jowers finished fourth as favourite.
John McCarthy has been declared as the driver for Mr Feelgood in the Miracle Mile on Saturday night. He drove the 9yr-old to win at Albion Park in September when training Mr Feelgood in Queensland.
It is costing the owners of Im Themightyquinn $A50,000 to fly the horse from Perth to Sydney for the Miracle Mile.
