Ideal Arden, trained by Bruce Hutton at Greendale, is based at Patumahoe with Todd Macfarlane.
"I had a fair idea something would drop out, so I sent him up on Monday with Fire In The Night," Hutton said.
Fire In The Night is in the 4yr-old trotter section of the Harness Jewels.
Ideal Arden, raced by the Forest Green syndicate, has won at Addington and Ashburton this season and finished fourth from five starts.
He equalled the record for his age group of 2.59.9 for 2400m (mobile) at Ashburton when he won against older horses on May 6.
The record was set by Joshua Mac at Ashburton in 2009.
Hutton is hopeful of a bold run from Hu Keas at Forbury Park tonight.
Dream Defence will be in demand in the same race.
The 3yr-old trotter in the Burnham stable of Jamie Gameson has won twice at Forbury Park this season and finished second in his other two starts on the track.
Gameson also has Rebateable, a leading prospect tonight. Rebateable has won at Forbury Park and Ascot Park in his last two starts.
Matthew Williamson will drive Loose Cannon in the race for junior drivers at Addington tomorrow night.
Loose Cannon led all the way to win at Oamaru on Sunday in the hands of his Waimate trainer John Patterson.
Theycallmesam and Classy Boyz, winners at Oamaru, clash tomorrow night.
Theycallmesam was having his first race for four and a-half months, suggesting he is capable of improvement.
Maurice McKendry has been engaged to drive Cool Cobber at Alexandra Park tomorrow night.
Cool Cobber, trained at Knapdale by Colin Baynes and Robin Swain, has won four races this season after clearing maiden ranks.
He has qualified for the Jewels.
Cool Cobber was a last-start winner at Forbury Park on May 3.
Mark Purdon will drive the 3yr-old trotter Stent tomorrow night but Colin De Filippi will be back in the sulky for the Jewels.
De Filippi has driven Stent in three of his four wins, including success at Cambridge last week.
De Filippi and his wife, Julie, trained Stent until a month ago but they were unable to campaign the horse in Auckland and he was transferred to Purdon and Grant Payne.
His owner, Trevor Casey, has the star 3yr-old trotting filly Escapee in the Purdon-Payne stable.
