Justice Prevails added another achievement to his 14-year stud career when he sired four winners at the Gore meeting yesterday.

Justice Prevails has left more than 150 winners of close to 400 races in eight different countries.

His progeny have also won races in Australia, Singapore, Macau, Korea, Hong Kong, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates.

He was represented yesterday by the winners, Fair Fax Fire, Leeward Prevails, Just Rhythm and Justice Day.

The 18yr-old Justice Prevails stands at the Phuttocks End stud, of Dave Haywood at Otautau.

The Australian-bred son of Proud Knight and Innocent Lady has been at Phuttocks End for eight years.

He was bought by Haywood and his partner Christine Gibb from a syndicate who stood him in the Auckland area.

"He [Justice Prevails] is a pleasure to have about the place," Haywood said.

Justice Prevails served 20 mares last season.

Justice Prevails commenced stud duty in Australia after winning four of his eight starts as a 2yr-old.

He was successful in the group two Todman Slipper Trial at Randwick.

Justice Prevails was transferred to Haunui Farm, Manurewa the following year and stood at Ra Ora Stud at East Tamaki for two years.

Justice Prevails has sired stakes winners, Pay My Bail (Auckland Thoroughbred Breeders' Stakes), Just Aqua (Tauranga Stakes), Besty Coup (Wairarapa Breeders' Stakes), Rock N Roll Kid (Hong Kong), Bus Us (Winter Stakes at Riccarton and Invercargill Cup), Clout (Western Australia) and Fifty Fifty (Tauranga Stakes).

It was the sixth win for Justice Day, who is trained at Gore by Alan Borthwick.

Just Rhythm was recording her second win.

Leeward Prevails cleared maiden ranks after placings in her four other starts.

Raced by North Taieri breeder Lorraine Anderton, Leeward Prevails is the first foal of Anquilla, a Random Chance mare who won eight races.

Fair Fax Fire, also a maiden winner, is a half-brother to Tele Ho (three wins).

Both horses are trained by Riverton owner Stephen Blair-Edie, their breeder.

The connections of Keeper Special have decided to bypass the Gold Trail Stakes at Hastings on Saturday.

Keeper Special won the Fillies' Stakes at Wanganui at her last start on September 6 and the Ryder Stakes at Foxton at her previous start.

The daughter of Keeper, trained at Pukekohe by Gareth McRae and Gary Newham, has won three of her four starts.

"Her main mission is the New Zealand One Thousand Guineas and we decided to miss Hastings as it was another trip away from home," McRae said.

"She will now go to the Soliloquy Stakes at Ellerslie in three weeks and then on to Trentham before the Guineas."

McRae said Keeper Special had done well since her win.

Darryl Bradley will retain the mount.

The feature sprint at Ellerslie on January 1 will now be run at set weights with penalties.

It was formerly the Railway Handicap (1200m).

The Railway Stakes will have a $50,000 increase in stake to $250,000.

"After the 2008 Graded Stakes Committee report that placed the Railway on a second warning the board of the Auckland Racing Club was unanimous that we needed to be proactive in trying to secure its future as a group one race," Bill Gianotti, the chairman of the club, said.
