The connections of Changeover have accepted an invitation to contest the Miracle Mile at Harold Park on Friday week.
"We have accepted the invitation and at this stage the flight to Sydney is on Wednesday of next week," Geoff Small, the Patumahoe trainer of Changeover, said.
"We would prefer to go a day or two earlier."
Changeover, winner of the New Zealand Cup last Tuesday and third in the NZ Free-For-All, is due home from Christchurch today.
NZ Cup winners to win the Miracle Mile in the same year are Master Mood (1986), Christopher Vance (1991), Chokin (1993) and Christian Cullen (1998).
Changeover is is by In The Pocket out of Chaangerr, a sister to Chokin (Vance Hanover-Nell's Pride), who also won the Miracle Mile in 1994.
Changeover has had one trip to Australia as a late 3yr-old when he won a semifinal and final of the Breeders' Crown at Ballarat in August, 2007.
Small trained Elsu, who ran fifth in the 2004 Miracle Mile from barrier four.
Special Albert and Be Good Johnny have also been invited into the eight-horse field, leaving two berths.
Special Albert won the Newcastle Mile in 1.54 on Saturday night.
His driver, Michael Dawson, was suspended for 28 days and fined $2000 after an inquiry into the race.
There was a protest of the last horses against Special Albert.
Special Albert is unbeaten in 13 starts at Newcastle.
Be Good Johnny won the Miracle Mile in 2005 and 2006.
The race was not run last year due to equine influenza.
• Les Lisle, who begins a fresh campaign at Palmerston North today, was a workout winner at Motukarara on Saturday.
Les Lisle, the winner of six races including the 2006 Tuapeka Cup, has not raced for 20 months.
He was spelled after surgery at Massey University 12 months ago to remove a piece of bone from a hock.
• Lavros Lazer qualified as a pacer 4.1sec under the Washdyke limit on Sunday.
The 4yr-old by Iraklis from Hoiti Toiti, was trained by Robert Crawford.
He is a half-brother to Lavra Hoiti (1.52.4).
