Trainer Jim Conlan is observing the weather in three states to find the best conditions for Larry's Never Late on Saturday.
Larry's Never Late has been accepted for the Parramatta Cup (2000m) at Rosehill, the Flemington meeting and the Port Adelaide Cup (2019m) at Morphettville.
"I'll be looking for a soft track," Conlan said.
"We'll head off on Friday morning if we are going to travel interstate."
Conlan said staying in Melbourne to run in a 2000m race at Flemington would be the most convenient option.
Larry's Never Late has not raced since winning the gr three Foundation Stakes (1500m) on a heavy track at Sandown in November.
