The Highlanders will play all their pre-season matches away from home next year.
They play their first warm-up match against the Chiefs in Rotorua on January 23, before playing the Crusaders on January 30, in Timaru.
Their final warm-up match will be against the Blues in Auckland on February 5.
Last season, the Highlanders played both the Chiefs and the Blues at home in warm-up matches, so they will be travelling next year to face the same opposition.
The squad also played an internal trial last season, but this has been replaced by the match against the Crusaders.
The Highlanders' first game of the Super 14 is against the Brumbies in Dunedin on February 13.
