Prop Toby Smith will make his first start for the Chiefs in a Super 14 rugby match against the Stormers in Hamilton on Friday night.
The 21-year-old, who has made three appearances off the reserves bench this season, was today named in the starting 15 in place of the injured Sona Taumalolo.
Experienced prop Nathan White returns from a back strain to be named on the bench.
