Chris Noakes had his kicking boots on and scored 13 points to help University A keep its top spot in the Gallaway Trophy when the students beat Green Island 33-14 at Miller Park.
The first five-eighth became the second player of the season to reach 100 club points. Noakes also played a skilled game with his deceptive running with the ball in hand and his accurate punting that kept University A on attack in the second spell.
The students had a narrow 13-7 lead at halftime, but dynamic wing David Thompson gave the students the advantage in the second spell by using his strength and speed to score three tries.

The students lead the Gallaway Trophy competition on 47 points and are followed by Southern 43, Harbour 42, Alhambra-Union 40, Dunedin 38, Pirates 32, Kaikorai 23, Green Island 15, Zingari-Richmond 15 and Taieri 12
Southern consolidated its second spot when it beat Zingari-Richmond 14-0 at Bathgate Park.
Loose forwards Cam Goodhue and Carl Anderson played a key role for Southern by dominating the breakdown.
A late try by wing Siaosi Folau gave Harbour a 5-0 win over Dunedin in an error-ridden game at Kettle Park.
No 8 Kensak Palepoi used his strength to score two tries to help Kaikorai beat Taieri 19-9 to hold on to the Speight's Challenge Shield.
Pirates are now safely in sixth spot and gained a place in the semi-finals when they upset Alhambra-Union 27-22. First five-eighth Glenn Dickson played a key role by kicking five goals from seven attempts to score 12 of Pirates points.
Dickson leads the individual points scoring with 117 points and is followed by Chris Noakes (University A) 100, Peter Breen (Alhambra-Union) 97 and Cam Rutherford (Kaikorai) 80, Michael Witt (Taieri) 62, Jonnie Hughes (Harbour) 61.

Highlanders School competition
South Otago High School remain at the top of the Highlanders first fifteen competition with a convincing 33-8 win over John McGlashan College in Dunedin today.
Prop Daniel Miller had an outstanding game and scored two tries. The scores were level at 8-all at halftime but South Otago took control by scoring five tries in the second spell.
