Kurow playmaker Ben Nowell produced another masterclass to guide his side to a 22-8 win over Valley in a North Otago club rugby game at Weston today.

Nowell scored one of Kurow's three tries and was a constant menace with his powerful and balanced running.

Up front, the battle was intense as Rob Verbakel and Forbes Meehan inspired the Kurow pack. Jake Greenslade and Cam Rowland threw themselves around the park for Valley.

The two other games were relatively one-sided.

Citizens Shield leader Old Boys pummelled Athletic Marist 57-12, and Maheno returned to form with a 46-0 shellacking of Excelsior.
