Otago captain Alando Soakai has re-signed with the province until the end of the 2011 season.
Highlanders flanker Soakai has played 48 games for Otago over the past five seasons and was keen to extend his stay.
"I've really enjoy playing my rugby for Otago and I'm exciting about working with new Otago Coaches Phil Mooney and David Latta," Soakai said in a statement.
