This is the side he made his senior debut with, way back in 1994. The Warriors were not even around back then.
Was awarded rookie of the year that season and stayed with the Broncos in the messy Super League years.
Won three titles with them before moving to rugby in 2001. Came back to the Broncos in 2005 and won a title the following year.
A hard-running, consistent forward, who never backed down. Surrounded by quality players.
The Crusader (92)
Initially joined the red and blacks to learn the game. Started in 2001, had a year off in 2002 and then came back in 2003.
Then left at the end of 2004 but returned in 2008, which was initially seen as a one-season stint, but he soon emerged as a key man.
That 2008 season set up his All Black career and standing in the game.
Appeared to score a try for the Crusaders in the 2011 Super rugby final - in his last game for the team - but it was ruled out.

Picked in 2001 but turned it down because felt was not ready and was a disservice to other players.
Made debut in 2003 but became a regular in 2008 at lock.
A key man in the winning of the World Cup in 2011.
Buried in the tight for the national side, he blew rucks, made tackles and got round the park to massively aid his team.

Played in an era when All Blacks actually played for their provincial teams.
Came on for Canterbury when it controversially beat Wellington in a Ranfurly Shield defence in 2001.
Then won the prize in 2009, dishing out a hiding to the unfortunate Wellington again.
Played just one game for Canterbury in 2010 and 2011.
The Highlander (19)
Was part of a raft of massive signings for the Highlanders in 2013.
The side promised much but delivered little, though Thorn had a quality season.
Then next year badly injured his pectoral muscle and missed the rest of the season.
Played for local club side Taieri.
Queensland (14)
Played in the super-hyped State of Origin and in the Super League version.
Mate against mate, state against state.
Must rank in the top echelon of the most over-hyped sporting events in the world.
Leicester (12)
In his final year, the 40-year-old keeps booking in the shifts. Leicester still well in the hunt for the title in the English premiership.
