New Zealand's Marina Erakovic was beaten in her second-round match at the US$100,000 ITF women's event in Poitiers, France, by former world No 4 Kimiko Date-Krumm overnight.
Erakovic, the tournament's fourth seed, went down 6-4 6-3 to the Japanese player, who is now ranked 144 in the world.
The Kiwi No 1 had earlier beaten France's Victoria Larriere 3-6 7-5 7-5 in the first round.
Meanwhile, the Kiwi pairing of Rubin Statham and GD Jones are through to the doubles semifinals of the US$15,000 futures event in Port Pirie, Australia, where they take on fellow Kiwi Logan MacKenzie and his Japanese partner Naoki Takeda.
Statham and Michael Venus are through to the second round of the singles.
