Marina Erakovic's run at Wimbledon came to an end overnight after a missed chance to eliminate local hope Laura Robson.

The New Zealand No. 1 served for the match at 6-1, 5-4 in the second set as she eyed the final 16 for the first time in London.

However, her former doubles parter got the crucial break as nerves looked to get the best of Erakovic.

Following a double fault, Robson hit a forehand winner to stay alive in the third round match. The Brit then won the following two games and the set 7-5.

The 19-year-old Robson took out the third 6-3 to claim the match.

She will face Estonia's Kaia Kenepi in the fourth round.

Erakovic's exit in the third round equals her best effort at Wimbledon when she made the final 32 in 2008.
