Men’s netball celebrated

Members of the Dunedin and Christchurch men’s netball teams gather after competing in the men’s Tri Series at the Edgar Centre last weekend.

The two teams, alongside the Invercargill men’s team, took part in the tournament, the second time the event had been run.

Dunedin men’s coach Byron Sanders said it was a "really up-beat and positive" tournament and an opportunity to showcase some of the best male netball talent across the South Island/Te Wai Pounamu.

After holding a lead for most of the game, Dunedin lost the final to Christchurch, 62-58, Sanders said.

Dunedin Men’s netball was in a process of rebuilding after not sending a team to the men’s nationals this year.

"We are looking forward to hopefully sending a team to the next national tournament in Easter 2027," Sanders said.
