Portobello Rd closures for tree felling

Parts of Portobello Rd will be closed this week to allow dangerous trees to be cut.

A gum tree will be felled in Portobello Rd at Burns Point, just past Doon St, and macrocarpa trees will be felled at the bottom of McLelland St in Macandrew Bay.

Parts of the road will be closed from 9am to 5pm from Monday until Friday.

There will be a detour via Highcliff, Camp and

Castlewood Rds in place.

A digital sign at the start of Portobello Rd will provide further details on resident access, which will still be available.

The shared path will remain open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The Dunedin City Council will give the wood from the felled trees to a local trust for firewood.
